750 sounds like the right size. DP's are mechanical carbs only.

Well, old school wise, I'd go 3310 750 (vaccum secondary) for a mild engine, mild gearing, or a 670 street Avenger VS. If you had to have a DP, I'd run a 4150 DP. Other choices are 625 Road Demon vaccum secondary, or 650 Speed Demon.  The Avengers and Demons are flowed wet, so they are a true real world rating for airflow. The old Holleys are dry flowed, and truthfully flow about 10% less when on an engine and full of fuel. Demons are not Holleys, and can be a little finicky to get "right", but they are a better carburetor IMO.

I have the Carter on mine mostly for the emmisions since the white car is by no means a race car.

I have the holly 750 Double pumper annular discharge on the old race car.  Talk about a carb that dumps buckets of gas

Another thing I've heard about Holley's are while some may find them hard to tune and others find them easy, it's the way they seem to de-tune themselves after time and on many occasions a short period of time too.

I've also had probs w/holley and the float adj once it's right the thing runs nice  when it's bad it's bad.  The first date I took my now wife on in my Gran Coupe the adj was out and I had to bust out the BIG Screwdriver and a 9/16" wrench She must have been wondering what the h*ll is going on--12 yrs later she knows it's a Disease(MOPARS)!
