OK.....we've got the GV's running about 85% now. It shifts perfectly through all gears and splits. Shifts smooth and the auto-shift kicks OD out when shifting how it should. I was following in the Jeep while Adam and Dave drove testing and keeping an eye on things. Man, shes sounds awesome!!! They were at the lights and took off at about 75% throttle and went through all 6 shifts....let's just say I was drooling, badly. Sounded like a drag car from behind!!!!! When it doesn't kick out by itself the OD is as smooth as silk. It didn't drop out at one stage until idle and you wouldn't know it apart from the light in the dash turning from green to red. The OD seems to kick out at any rpm, you can have no throttle and be coasting or have a set rpm cruising speed then all of a sudden your rpms rise and there's a "drop down" very minimal, you can hardly feel it.
Now, we have one main problem left to fix. Every 6-7 miles or so the car kicks out of OD in top gear. We tried 3 fixes none worked and one made it worse, dropping out of OD in every gear and at any throttle/rpm. That was using the tach filter supplied buy GVs. Adam says he is pretty confident he knows what it is but needs to talk directly to the GV tech to make sure he can understand what to do.
The last module they sent over using Adams specs was a MAJOR improvement and cleaned up our shift points beautifully. Just this one fault now to fix. We're hoping GVs can make another new module using Adams specs from last time but improve it that much more to fix the fault that has been left out this time. Adam says it's a switch or control that is suppose to basically say to the module: "OK, we're in OD....stay IN" but it's getting a message saying: "OK we're in OD hold off for a little while then turn off". Something to those words, Adam went into detail and lost me using tech stuff but that's basically what he was saying (I think). He said it's a mathematical theory, an and/or term or something lol....not sure.
Anyhow, he will be on the phone to GV ASAP jacking up (hopefully) a new module. If GVs say we have to send the one we have back that's more time. I hope they can see how patient and helpful we have been and bite the bullet and just make us a new module......they're are improving but at my cost. We have 2 modules here at the moment and if they make another one we'll have 3. We will be sending the faulty ones back when it's running properly. Anyhow, I am pretty darn happy as it was a MAJOR step forward into getting this system working 100%.
