where do I get those fuzzie window guides ?
« on: August 01, 2006 - 05:13:16 PM »
I am talking about the door guide that look like they are covered in felt or something... there are two on each side in a 70 challenger. Mine are toast and I need to replace them before I put the windows back up and scratch them all up! Any one have any ideas? Is it a do-it-yourself kinda thing?

.... Or you could try Legendary Interiors. I know I bought mine after-market, I just can't remember where.  :banghead:

I bought some from FELLWOCKS & was disappointed, The outer pieces fit well but were made unlike the OEs in that they were straight rubber & they fold under when the window is rolled down. The inside pieces looked good but did not mount like OEs. I had to drill & pop rivet them on, PITA. Even they list a higher end "concourse" set. If avail. it would be worth more $ to get exact replicas, I just can't say where you can find them.

I bought mine from Legendary and they were rubber like bullitt described.  I didn't change the inner ones because mine were OK and I didn't want to go through the trouble of pop riveting the new ones to the door panels.  I was talking to a vendor in Carlyle that said they jusst staarted making ones that just slide on the door panels like the originals did, but I can't remember which vendor it was.   :stomp:

If you are talking about the guides that hold the window firm in the door, than I would suggest to buy a velvet scarf and recover over the existing hair like materiel. Thats what I did and they turned out awsome, not to metion velvety soft.If you mean the window sweeps than the best repo I 've seen is made buy top cat whiskers(or something like that) and I got mine from rpm restorations.

I got all new felts and weatherstripping for the Beast at RPM.  Great products---fit like a glove.  Service was awesome....   I recommend them highly.  ...    :cooldancing:

I think you have the right idea.... I didnt know what they are called, but the are "L-shaped" brackets and the ends are covered in velvet-like (or whisker-like) material. I think they are supposed to hold the window firm in place. I thought I might have to find some material and do it myself...

Just got off the phone with RTSpecialties and they dont make it. He suggested that I try recovering my original ones. That is what I am going to do then... just have to find some decent material.

I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about quarter window felt.
