Quick temp sender question - trans
« on: August 02, 2006 - 11:47:20 AM »
I have a brass fitting setup that i will be plumbing to get a trans temp reading. As it is now, there is very little space around the actual sender probe, but the base/bottom of the probe is wide open. I'm wondering if the sender probe has to be submurged in the fluid to get a good reading, or will the reading be just the same if only the bottom of the probe catches fluid at all times.

Thanks

if the sender is like the one I had from B&M there is a 1/2" long brass section that is to be submerged in the fluid as deeply as possible. I doubt is accuracy will be affected if a 1/6 or 1/8" is uncovered tho

It will be inline with the outlet/front cooling line.
