I'm psyched. I just bought a set of RT doorpanels for my 72. I know, they are RTs,and they don't "belong" on my car, but hey, I like em better.
Both doorpanels, Fr & rear, black.

Probably get a steering column here in a couple of days.

Then the cars are coming.....
Here's what I am building:
72 Petty Blue challenger- Original Petty Blue w/black interior. Currently no interior.
Here's a pic:

You car looks to be in great shape!  Are you going to paint the engine compartment while the motor is out?

I will repaint it Petty blue- I will blast out the interior pans, firewall and engine bay - patch, prime and seal. Then everything will get the delux Peety paint.
When I reach that stage- I would say next year some time, It will be time for a drivetrain and interior. Defintely not stoc, but period correct.
I will eventually post the "workplan"

This this is SO straight. You would NEVER believe the deal that I got on this car and the OTHER car.

Here is another pic or two.

Um.. very cool car.  But there is no such thing as "R/T" door panels.

There are "SE" door panels which have "Special Edition" on the insert of the door, and carpeting on the bottom.  Even some non-SE door panels got the carpeting on the door panels.  But there are no "R/T" door panels.

Whoops, They are not RT panels, they are SE panels. My mistake.
They came off of an RT/SE.

Very cool.  Those door panels are very hard to find and go for some good money.  Was someone parting out a R/T SE?  Poor car.

Congratulations DMZ73!   Door Panels complete a huge part of the interior image.  What condition are they?  I couldnt see a pic of yours.  We had to re-do ours -- we used the SEM product/process:

Very nice doors, unfortunately, mine are not as perfect.
I really liked the SE edition panels better than the stock-so I had to do it. I found them at a "reasonable price" for the set. I did not want them to look new. That would be overdone.
Here are some pics.

Very cool door panels!  I like the rug and the reflector on the bottom of the panels.  You must be psyched!

What else do you have in store for your car?  Are you going to keep the flat hood?  Add a wing?

I like the color of your car too!  ;)  Surprisingly it's not a very popular color, IMO.  I don't see a lot of people opting for this color if it's not the original color code, TB3.

I always like to think that if there was a High Impact blue then this would be it, but they didn't have one.  :(

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Amazen,
I see from your plate you are in Michigan?
I am from Oakland Co. Michigan, right off Woodward. Where are you located?
What does your fender tag read?
Yes, My car was/is TB3, and she will be repainted that color as soon as possible. It originally came with a white vinyl top and lt. blue accent stripes, black interior. It will be painted inside and out. I need to do some small patchin and cleanup, but otherwise she is SOLID!

It has  a period correct GoWing. Incomplete dash, missing a few parts here and there.
I don't know if I'm gonna keep the flat hood. I like the rally hood better, so I might try to swap it out.
I know in 70/71 you couldn't get fender mounted turn signals w/rally hood. My other Challenger has em.

I might use your car as a complete car for some "photochoppin" if you don't mind.

DMZ73,

what style Go-Wing are you going with, just curious?

I bought an original gull wing style ('71) of Ebay.  These were made out of ABS plastic, not fiberglass so they are a little fragile.

I went with this style as my car was bought on 8/31/71 so I could imagine the original owner buying it at the parts counter in '71 so I went with the '71 style.

As far as the hood goes there might be someone that wants to do a shaker hood set up so you might be able to do an even swap if they have a rallye hood.

Are you keeping the bodyside molding?  That would be interesting as you, Amazen toys (love that name!), and myself would have TB3 cars with body side moldings.  My car is a Rallye so I don't have the side scoops and strobe stribes because I believe of the bodyside moldings deleted the scoops and stripes.
