Lets Get Some More Member Rides
« on: April 22, 2002 - 08:51:13 AM »
now that we have a few more members lets see if we cant get a few more submittals for the member rides section.  we have a bunch of regular members (revitup, big mike, hemibullitt, dark horse, whitesatinmopar etc) who arent in there, and i see we have a couple of newer members who look like theyre gonna stick around who also could send in some pics.  the only thing i ask is that if you are going to submit a entry that your thinking youll hang out with us for awhile.  no point in having a car in there from a member who posted 4 times and then never came back.  just email (rolney@socal.rr.com) me your 3 or 4 favorite pics, say a good engine shot, good interior shot, good body shot etc, and a brief description of your car.  how you bought it if thats interesting, what kind of mods you have, what kind of quarter times it runs etc.  if you need ideas check out whats in our section now.  lets get that side of our site to grow!

Ross, our car isn't finished yet.  Do you think it would be worth it to put in "in the process" shots?

:D Sounds like a real good idea Ross, always looking for pics of Mopars, of course this is an E-bod. site, but that is what  cuda-challenger is all about. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before our '73 Chally is ready for crusin, for sure I'll send a few pics.

I'll throw this at you to think about and reply; last week while I was at work an enclosed semi-hauler parked on a side street adjacent to our house. The driver opens the doors and starts to unload  mopars. It turns out a guy somewhere in the Detroit area has bought these "rare mopars". I don't know if he is a collector or buys and sells. Only one appeared to be completed, the others were in various stages of resto. Then an old guy in a 40's something (Dodge I think) pulls up and they load his car onto the carrier. There were 3 Challengers, 1 Cuda, a late '60's Plymouth and then the old Dodge. My wife ran (yeh, right), walked home and got the camera. If you want I'll Post the one Challenger and maybe the old guys car. The key word here is ONE.  The driver told my wife that Challenger was 1 of 1.  It was a 1970 T/A with a 340 6 pack, the other options weren't so different, but this " survivor" was the only one painted that color sorry I can't identify it but I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to ID it. Let me know if you want it posted for a while, than you can delete it.

I would love to see all of those cars...  just post it in a message, insead of in members rides???  I would love to see that T/A, I have know idea what color it is but its driving me crazy to know.  I got another story to add to that one not as good but you dont see it alot.

Driving south on I-75 in Ohio on my way back form a trip to Michagain On the back of a car hauler was a 70 Super Bee it was white with red int and a red stripe the car looked to have had a complete resto or lived in a heated/cooled garage all its life!!!  I couldnt see the hood to see what engine it had but maybe next time.

progress pictures are fine by me.  its really whatever you want.  if you dont want to post progress pics and would rather wait until its finished, thats fine.  this was just a reminder for everyone that the section exists and its pretty small.

and of course any pictures of challengers are welcome.  i doubt it will happen, but talk of purchasing a project challenger have circulated the house here recently, so i love them to death and enjoy all pics.

From the front/ side view the color has a green tinge. but from the side it looks grey. There was a colour called Citron Mist Y4. I would say from the color chip it has grey and green in it. Can't tell for sure though because you don't know how true the charts are. Dare I say this I found the chart some time ago on the UK Dodge Challenger home page.

Pics can play havoc with true color in person, my wife said it looked to her like a "sandy beige" color we can check back on the color charts posted a while back for '70 models and see if there is anything close to that.

The '70 list that rev it up posted list an L1 - Beige and a
T3 Tan for Dodges, I must admit the same codes for Plymouths were much more descritive.
