Speedomotive Hemi Update Blah Blah Blah
« on: August 05, 2006 - 05:12:36 AM »
 :villagers: :villagers:

Friday 8/4 afternoon, spoke with Speedomotive - hemi still not shipped after promised being shipped Mon or Tues - their explanation:

Have to build crate to fit engine - DUH - they are only 6 months late after stated completion date of 2/14.  I have called at least 2 times weekly for the past 2 months with unfilled promises.

Not like they didn't know they would eventually complete build and ship it out

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT & WAIT & WAIT :useless:

Building a crate can only take a couple of hours...don't they build them all the time in their line of work?  Keep on them!  I'm sure the wait will be worth all the frustration.

What you are going through drives me crazy.  Why can't anyone stick to what they promise.  You see this happpen all of the time.  It makes me weary of having anything done on my car if I am not doing it myself.  I was very luck with the guy I chose to do my motor this past winter.  He was done in about 2 weeks and most of his time was spent waiting for me to get all of the parts to him.  He is the kind of guy who likes to finish one project before starting another.

I sure hope you get your motor soon.  I am sure the first time you drive it your aggrivation will just be a distant memory.  Best of luck to you!

Seeing how many broken promises you are getting i would plan on taking the motor to a local speed shop and double everything.... imagine what it would be like having to try and get them to warranty a screwed up motor?? :scared:

Just my 2cents...

speedomotive told me similar bs a couple years back.  i took a 440 block there to have them build me a 500 stroker.  said they were waiting for the eagle crank to arrive "in a few days."  after 5 weeks still no stroker crank. i said to h*ll with this, drove down there loaded up the 440 and took it to superior automotive in anaheim, ca.  they had everything in stock and the motor was completed and dynoed within a few weeks.

Thanx for the feedback - being in Mississippi and having an engine done in CA probably not the best idea.  I did a ton of research throughout US and Canada for the engine build.  Most waits more in the time frame of at least 6 months except Speedomotive.

NC would have been an option Arruzza or even Indy but felt confident with Speedo

I'm hoping by Friday I'll have an engine & can post some pics.

Work update - pulled power brake booster & master cylinder, 1/2" stainless fuel line installed & installed 4 speed pedals on Sat - continued to weld in subframe connectors from US Car Tool.

Hoping to have challenger on the road (end of September) for one of the country's largest week long car shows "Cruisin' the Coast" (check out the website).  10th anniversary cancelled last year due to "Katrina" - usually about 5000 plus cars with tons of entertainment, casinos, car auction, golf tourney, stuff like dat
