"Thats the easy way, lol.I'm talking about doing it yourself."
I was too. I take my parts to a place that rents professional gear, breathing apparatus, and has the various mixes available for any size the job. You don't find that level of gear for sale at the local Pep Boys! The basic mix is housed in silos 4 stories high that look like rockets from the 50"s crashed into the ground. Always feels like a picnic on the moon. Wouldn't want my place knee deep in used sand in any case!
"I would never have anyone sandblast my stuff, heard too many horror stories about blasting thru metal."
I've heard stories too, usually devoid of professionals. But that isn't why I do it myself. I'm just a control freak with an unrealisticly high expectation level, plus it's fun. The product mix used, the equipment capabilities and a basic understanding of the relationship between distance to production are all you need to know for a good result. It's not rocket science, and anyone who blows a hole in an old car part or streaches a panel is just not aware of how to use the gear. Most professionals, and some enthusiasts, are.
