Work completed 8-6-06
« on: August 07, 2006 - 08:48:36 AM »
Well, I ended up work almost every night last week, and then took Friday off from work to prep the car for paint on Saturday morning.  Here are the results as of Saturday evening.  I ended up not painting my hood yet because I really started to hate the quality of the shaker conversion.  I ordered a new under hood brace from Harms and hopefully I can get it all fixed in a couple weeks and painted too.  In the mean time, I still have more to do to the body.  This week I hope to finish wet sanding and polishing the car (I have the front drivers fender finished) and next weekend I hope to fix a few areas I wasn't at all happy with.  Then I need to black out the rear panel.  Oh... I have a new respect for painters.  :worshippy  I am so sore and achy from holding the gun over the car.  In all, I am pretty pleased with the out come.  Especially since I have seen what it will look like once it is wet sanded.  This was the first car I have painted and glad I got the experience.

The last picture is some new toys I got last week too. More to come this week!

Just a heads up ........  I painted my yellow '73 Challenger in pieces. I put the car back together and found out that the yellow shade is a different color on some pieces. The yellow is real transparent so if you get alittle more paint on one piece than the others it comes out a deeper yellow and you can tell!!!! I am waiting till the whole car has  all the pieces on it then I have to respray the whole car from bumper to bumper  Just a heads up!!!!!!!!!!!
