Newbie to site
« on: August 09, 2006 - 10:26:36 AM »
Hello everyone,

Just found this site and wanted to say hi. I love mopars and haven't been able to get a new toy for a long time. Started to love Cuda's after watching the movie phantasm back in 79. I tried to get one back then but they either needed too much work or I couldn't afford them. Even back in the 80's cuda's were hard to find in Miami. I finally have my dream car which I recently bought. I will tell you all a little about what I know of the car because I did not buy it from the original owner (dealer). The car was originally a 318 barracuda and looks to have been originally painted green. The car now has a 340 with headers and flowmasters mufflers. The carb is a holley duel feed and the tires are 60's a little fatter in the back. It has a nice sounding cam and I will be adding a Summit Vacuum Reservoir for my power brakes.

Things I have done since owning (3 months)

Fixed interior dash cluster lights
replaced front tires with thinner tires, (used to rub fender well badly when turned)
installed missing driver side window, (needs new track and bracket assembly to line up properly)
new hedman headers old ones had leak
new flowmasters old ones rotted out (collected too much moisture? )
new door sills
new stall convertor ( in progress)
wiper linkage ( was missing)
fixed small tranny leaks (new seals)

I have attached a couple of pics ......

Thanks for the welcome guys. To answer Mopar Fanatics question on the stall convertor it looks to be a convertor from fairbanks. (cost 300.00 bucks)  I'll have more details tomorrow. My mechanics transmission guy talked to the supplier for the convertor and according to him there are 2 types that can fit that tranny. So he wasn't sure of the exact details of which one. I have a 727 torque flight tranny . Anyways I really love this site very good resource. I hope to see some posts of some GTX's on here. (my second favorite mopar)
