'74 Barracuda to '70 Cuda 440
« on: August 11, 2006 - 08:47:26 PM »
Hi all. These are the latest photos of my project.

Originally a 1974 Barracuda 318 auto... about the least desireable of all, so I figured I could do whatever I wanted with it. I bought it with a 383 and a 4-spd, but I had a 440 at my house and really liked the style of the 1970 model.

So it’s going to be a 1970 Cuda 440 recreation.

Thanks guys, but I can't take credit for the metal work. The shop does mostly collision work, but turn out a few old muscle car restorations. Although they're Chevy guys (notice the red '67 Camaro in one of the photos), the guy actually doing the work takes such pride in what he does that I'm confident it will turn out well.

And don't worry, they're just doing the body work and paint; I'm doing the reassembly and mechanical work!

Photos don't do it any justice. Lots of people tried to dissuade me from my choice of black, but wow, am I glad I persisted.

Looks great!  Can't wait to see the finished product!

How did you swap the front end to a '70?  Was it just the grill/side markers that you changed?
