There was an auction for a 70 V-code Cuda. Was basically nothing left, roof was cut off, totally stripped. Was a white on black automatic car. It went for $6000. Does anyone know who got it, I would like to contact them. Thanks  dalkris@hotmail.com

Was that the one that had the body numbers cut out of it but they still came with the car?

Well, whoever bought that one hopefully just needed original floors, really, really bad. Because once a car has been reduced to this (see photo) there is absolutely no way to bring it back legally.

I was second highest bidder on this particular car. I used to work in a body shop, trust me, that car could be fixed.

...fixable, maybe.  Legal? Probably not...

Definately no legal way to do it. The VIN has been flagged by law enforcement, if some one tries to register it or insure it they may be in for a surprise.

Looks like they forgot to cut the radiator core support numbers, OPPS! I did'nt see that auction but if there was no numbers drive train you could'nt even do a convincing (and illegal) re-body without the rad numbers and possibly the numbers drive train. Not to mention the dude who posted the entire VIN in his auction for all to see and track ( :icon16:).

That car (when it shows up looking all new and spiffy) will be forever marked as a Re-Body. (GOOD! :2thumbs:)

What are you talking about? He had the original car, you put the numbers back on it. So what you're telling me, is if you change your dashpad and put the VIN back on, your car is now illegal???

In most states, that is how the law reads, call your local law enforcement and ask.
