why do speedometers do this?
« on: August 12, 2006 - 11:36:52 PM »
Hey PC, I took picture of an old 150 speedometer that croaked years ago, put it in the how fast have you driven thread today.  And I wondered why, when you go 150 or more they never come back?  Does it kill them, stress them, or what is it?  I figured you might know.  I neveer throw away things like that, but wondered, can I fix it or have to send it off?  Here's a picture, I'll have to take a pic of the tach that used to be in my Challenger, you'll love it!  Someone used redneck technology and put the Mopar front and needle on a sun tach!  Guess it worked, looked ok.  Please let me know what you think about the speedometer, as I'm putting things back to factory original look, I'm buying a better whole cluster that hasn't been hacked up too.
