Only thing I did to the `72 this week was burn gas and rubber!  I Installed the new line lock in the `69 to replace a junk swap meet one,it tested fine in the garage.    I might need to buy a couple sets of tires for next weeks update if I keep this up!        (my favorite smiley-can you tell?)
The rest of the week was spent working on my bodywork side job for a friend, a `74 Pontiac ventura/GTO clone which also lays nice rubber with it`s biult 455/4 spd!

Well Mike it looks like you took the day off. I on the other hand cleaned, blasted, preped & painted front suspension & steering parts. all except for one rassin frassing muthermucker of a PITMAN ARM!  Wew.... Pant Pant.  See my progress. all left side finished.

Nice job on the hood pins Mike!  I remember Red drilling holes in our hood...he was like a surgeon and I was wiping the sweat from his brow every minute.

The suspension parts look great Bullitt!  That's was one of my favorite parts of the resto...making something old and disgusting look brand new. 

I didn't do anything on any car....but I got my son back to college and Pixie ready for school tomorrow.  wheww!

Believe it or not, my inner fenders already had holes for the pins to mount to. So that was a good start. The hood has little circles on the outer edge, let's call them cut-outs. I pretty much drilled thru the center of those cut-outs. I hope the 72 hood works the same way for your sake. I'll go get some pics later for ya.

Nice ride. I am thinking about doing the same thing to my car. I want to also repaint my car to get rid of bubbles etcc. I think it's best to drill the holes first prior to paint I would think. Just in case something happens you can fix it and then have your paint done . I will have to wait a little while for the paint because I am trying to get all the mechanicals done right. I will use your pics for reference.

 Big week for me this week.  First off got my seats back from the trimmer in their new white legendary covers.  Panel shop has been making great progress in the last couple of weeks and they reckon the body could be in high-fill for sanding next week and painted within 4 weeks.  5 new tyres ex-USA should arrive tomorrow (BFG 225/70/14s) and the R11 radio, 22" fan shroud and mounting brackets I got on Ebay should also arrive.  And finally, weather was warm enough on the weekend to respray my dual snorkel air cleaner in wrinkle paint.  Oh, also managed to convince my engine builder that he has no option but to start work on it, given the body may be ready in a month.

Given such monumental progress, I made a list of all the bits and pieces I still need to buy before putting it back together, which only served to remind me how there is still to do.  Still, I have made up at least a couple of months by moving the body to the current body shop so its all good.

This last week, I wet sanded, installed the Go-wing, and blacked out the rear panel.  All I have to say, is "I hate sanding!"  I do have some areas I need to go back over.

Mike, I was telling Big Don how I showed you where the factory cut outs in the hood were. He said I should have to told you to mount the hood pins. Then slam the hood and drill at the dents. Gotta love Big Don.
