pic's of my parts car
« on: August 14, 2006 - 07:19:36 PM »
Hello to all.Been going non stop trying to get this stripped down so I can remove the front and rear frame rail's and the cowl. Many of you know the project car of mine is a very rusty 70 340 challenger and I am very determined to redo this car for myself.Last week I located a 72 340 challenger that will donate almost all the structure steel that I need to get my 70 project started. If its got a good section of steel I will remove it at the spot welds I will try not to waste anything thats useable. And I have gained a lot of parts that were missing from the 70 and many parts I consider an upgrade such as disc brakes and a rear sway bar unit and the rear window defogger unit which was complete and a 323 posi unit which is going in the 69 cuda this week..Here's a few photos------the clown

I'm glad someone else loves saving these old Challenger's and Cuda's besides me. I was told when I restored my Challenger RT back in 91 that I must of been crazy to restore a 340 car. I did it because I really liked the car and did not want to see it get parted out. Keep us posted on your progress with lots of pictures.

Thanks guy's,and yes I will do the work all myself. One because i'm nuts, and two because I had to have that 70 340 challenger. It was love at first sight and I can picture this car finished just the way I want it.Only spent about two hours tonight with the spot weld cutter.Heres a question for you all,I am gonna use the top of the cowl but want to remove the 72 #s and weld in my 70 #s is there a proper way of going about this?should I document the transfer with pictures?I will not be selling this car but want to do this the right way.If there is such a thing as doing that right.I have already had people say why don't you just put the 70 parts on the 72 and anyone here that knows me knows that I just wont do that. And as crazy as this might sound I am having a blast, plus I would really like to prove to the people that have there doubt's about this challenger ever being driven again.Just picture this a 1970 challenger top banana top to bottom a black tail stripe with a go wing and a black shaker bubble poking up thru the hood and a blk interior and 15 inch steel wheels painted body color with the dog dish caps-------the clown

Moving body numbers is illegal, so save the original cowl. '72 cowl tops are different anyway.  ;)
