I used to LOVE playing snooker! No tables anywhere near where I live now.
Its a pool game type but the table is twise as big and have other pockets
The tables are the same size as a regulation pool table and have the same number of pockets in the same locations as a pool table. The pockets are just smaller, and the corners of the pockets are rounded instead of angular. As Carl said, it's a much more challenging game than pool!

Never played snooker but wouldn't mind trying.  Don't know where there are any snooker tables in my area??  Maybe a big pool hall in Detroit somewhere??  :smokin:    :dunno:

A pool hall will have one 4C, you can use your own pool table at home or any pool table.
Just on TV and professionals use the proper full length one.

392heminut - I just had to pint out they're not the same size, the tables they use on TV and proper Snooker tables are 12ft x 6ft compared to your normal 8-9 x 4ft pool tables. You can use any to play snooker. We have a 9ft x 4 foot table at home and it's just as awesome to play, yet, easier due to not having to pot a ball over 12ft from corner to corner!! LOL Dang it, it's 3:23am down here and I've got an itch to play Snooker.......lol

Carl, the pool hall I used to play at had all Brunswick regulation size tables. Back in the day they had Pro tournaments there with the likes of Minnesota Fats playing there. I'm not sure exactly what size the tables were, but the pool, snooker and billiard tables were all the same size, and they were all pretty good size tables.

Yip, most pool halls use the same size no matter the game or cloth colour. Snooker tables are Snooker tables and when you see a pro 12fter with 6ft of width you know it's a Snooker table.

Another reason they don't use full sized tables in pool halls is you need a spider or jig to play 40% of your shots. Can you imagine drunk guys in the hundreds climbing over Snooker tables and the cloth? lol

You can see the difference on TV too. When the 9-Balls on he takes like 2 strides and he's at the other end. When Snookers on the player has one toe touching the floor and he's hardly half way across the width of the table.

4C - You may want to read this, good Wiki write up on how to play and what the balls are worth etc.
