I will check that at lunch and reply after that.

I checked and the carb was loose. I tightened it down and the whistle got better but not gone. It is hard to make it whistle. it is only when the rpm is at a certain point and the carb is open to a certain point.

If you are pinging under hard acceloration, then you don't have enough octane in the gas, or you need to retard your timing a few degrees at a time until it goes away. It could also be that you are running too lean. How do your spark plugs look?

I will have to check the plugs. I am running regular in the car. that is what it has always run. should I be running something else? which way is retarding? I have the cam spec sheet at home, will bring it in tomorrow and post it on here.

ok all, i didnt have a chance to check the plugs with all the hassle of this weekend. I did however check the timing (2 and 1/2 degrees BTDC)
My  pinging went away, dont know if it was how the plugs were before i fixed the vaccum leak and maybe they adjusted after running without the extra air or what but it is gone. car is idling alot better at a stop, still a little rough. I did however get to weld my seat frame back together, who would have known all the difference that would make. well, hope to talk to you tomorrow. very busy you know.  :poopoke:
