If you want new, the sending units can be had on E-Bay in the $60-$80 range. Unfortunately, the turn signal switch for a 70 E-Body is unique. It costs $55 at Year One. I hope someone has some cheaper used stuff for you.

The HELP section of Autozone sells the top portion of the turn signal switch that contains the part that always breaks. Any auto parts store can get you that "HELP" stuff. As for the sending unit, get a NEW one. The gas guage sending unit has a little button that wears off after constant friction  against the resistance wire. The connection rivet also starts going flaky after years of use too.  Fix it right once and you wont spend twice.

I bought one on EBAY today for 54.95.  3/8" with a return line is the way to go.     I use them for fuel injection and drill out the 1/4" return line and install a 5/16 line instead.   The 5/16 sending unit was 2 dollars cheaper.

The turn signal part wont fix your turn signals if it isn't the switch.  Usually bad turn signals, if it's the switch, often leads back to the emergency flasher portion of the turn signal switch.

First Change the bulb, second, clamp a battery jumpercable to it and ground the other end to see if that makes it work.  It's usually a bad ground.

I thought you said the left front was just dimmer than the others. Does everything not blink? Did you change your flasher?

the emergency flashers work but the turns do not. when the lights are on the left front is dimmer than the rest.

When you turn the right turn signals on, do the right tail lights and front turn signal come on, not blinking?

no. nothing happens when I turn the sinal on. only time that they flash is when I turn on the hazzard flasher, even then the fronts turn off when I do that but the rears flash.

NOTE: there was 18.6 volts pushed through my whole system for like a week and a 1/2.

NOTE: If you buy an one pully alternator from O'rileys, it is not right. the part number they have is wrong and all of the issues that I am having will happen to you!!!!

That alternator can only push 18.6 volts if the voltage regulator tells it to. Was the voltage problem fixed after you changed the alternator back? It sounds like the voltage regulator is bad.

As for the blinkers, change the flasher.
