Doesnt it make the little pad on the rear valance look funny without the bumperette there?

Anyone have pics both ways?

Rear bumper guards were standard on all '70 models.  Bumperettes (rubber inserts) were only available on base Barracuda and Gran Coupe models but not on the 'Cuda.

Challenger R/T had them as an option.  Why would the Cuda not have them as an option?

Every other manufacturer I have had in my 42 years has called the bumper guards= bumperettes, which is what i meant. Are they called bumperettes or bumper guards on a broadcast sheet?I am talking about the chrome "bumper guards"

All ebodys had rear bumper guards.  On 70,71 and 72 cars, when the bumper guard option was selected front bumper guards were added.  The front bumper guards had rubber pads on them.  When the front bumper guards were added to the car the rear bumper guards had rubber pads added to them also to match the front pads. The 73 and 74 cars had the guards and pads standard to meet government crash standards.
You could always go without any like on Alloways Challenger.

Thanks for clearing that up,so they all had bumper guards. The chally looks kewl without them.My Gc has the california turndown exhaust rear valance. Is the holes in the valance for the bumer guards or the spring shackels to move?I am wondering how that will look with out the bumperguards.I guess I can wait until its painted and then see what i like.I was hoping someone had some pics of their cuda without them.
thanks

The Challenger rear valance is easy to do as Alloway did his.  I just has 2 one inch wide slots where the bumper guards were that need closed up.  The Cuda valance is raised in this bumper guard area.  I would think the raised section would have to be cut out and replaced with a flat section if the rear guards were removed.

I guess i will see what it looks like but will probably use the bumper guards even though the new bumpers i bought have the holes filled in
