I use Mancini Racing. I've never had an issue they didnt resovle to my satisfaction in over 10 years of using them. I have had issues in the past getting issues resolved in a timely matter with Summit and Jegs. Issues always pop up. That's normal. I just want to know they are looking out for me first, then themselves. Mancini never fails. I will buy my own pistons, but if I'm having a crank turned, I let the shop get the bearings and block hardware. Many shops will also not warranty the engine unless they order the parts. Sometimes trying to save that "dime" can cost a lot.

I would stay away from the Probe pistons based on my experience with them. Next time I would go JE or Diamond.

Very good information. Not always best to cut out the machine shop when trying to save a dime, could cost me more in just buying the wrong parts even.

I bought all my parts from the local speed shop as I got good prices.  I paid for it at the machine shop when they had to mill the piston tops, machine the piston bosses so the pistons didn't hit the crank, redo the Eagle rods as the big ends were out of round, etc, etc.  They said that if they had sold me the parts they would of had to make it all fit for free.  When you call Eagle, Probe, etc. complaining that their stuff needs "finish machining" they just blow you off.  None of this stuff is bolt together.  It all has to be checked.
