When you grounded the sending unit return wire, did the guage just go to "F", or did it travel to it's right side limit?  The guages should be pegged to their limit. Same with the oil pressure and water temp. If those 2 others move all the way and the fuel guage doesn't, then it is the fuel guage. If all three have the same problem, then it is the voltage limiter.

Just checked the temp and fuel gauge by grounding the sending unit wire. The temp gauge shot right up to its limit. The fuel went up to the full mark (not the F) and not as fast as temp gauge. So does that confirm the problem is the gauge. I will have to call Auto Instruments tomorrow.

It has to be. You tried everything else.  Did you check your oil pressure guage too? They might have screwed that on up too. Did they calibrate your tach? RT engineering sells a neat little tach exerciser that checks it.

The oil pressure gauge did not work before I sent the cluster in, it works now. Is it reading correctly? :dunno:
They did calibrate the tach and it appears correct.

You can ground the oil pressure sending unit wire to see if the guage deflects like the other 2.

Hey, I hit 100 post again (all my post were deleted awhile back).
Talked to Auto Instruments this afternoon, they agreed it is probably the gauge. They say it needs to be recalibrated. That it may have gotten knocked out of calibration during shipping. So I have to pull the cluster out again  :banghead: They say they will make it a priority and get it turned around in a couple of days. I hope so.

The last time I put the cluster in was because Auto Instrument had to fix the Ampmeter because the needle was touching the face. So I inspected each of the gauges to verify their needles were not touching after that.
I have been having a few problems with the quality of the restoration of the cluster from Auto Instruments but I have to say I have had no problem with them willing to correct the problems.
