Is there a sticker on the driver's side door? That should give you the month and year.

If you have your fender tag (drivers inner fender) it will be on that too.

The month on the Mylar door sticker can be a month before, it is common.

The date on the broadcast sheet and fender tag is the Scheduled Probuction Date, not necisarily the exact date the car was built.

There is no way to know for sure what day any given car was built, but the SPD will get you within three weeks or so.

"IF" you have original seats check all the tags, seats were one of the last items installed.

The seats were not always put in the right car though, I have seen broadcast sheets from inside the bucket seats with dates either three weeks before the cars SPD and up to three weeks after as well.  :banghead:

Doesn't really matter if the car received the correct seats or not, if they are original seats in a car with a sched prod date of say 10/6 and the seats are date 10/27 it is obvious the car was not built on 10/6.

Very true. My T/As SPD is 417, but my #s matching engine is dated 422, so my car was likley assembled 423 or later.

Of the date codes I have looked at on my car so far, they range from as early as November '69 and so far the engine is the latest at 422.

I have not checked the dates on the seat tags yet......

Date coding is fairly new to me. I have to ask FY1_RTSE how to read the ones I do not know.

I will have to go look at my seat tags now........  ;)

I was chatting with Burnt in the chatroom and come to find out his code on his fender tag is 926.  So, if it's a 70 cuda it was built 9/26/69...right?  Or was it one of the last 70's off the line in 70?

Scheduled to be built that day, yes. Actually built that day? No way to know.

The 1970 model year ran from Aug 1, 1969 throght July 31, 1970

I looked at my bucket seat date tags, 11-17-69 on both.

Barry, my 70 Cuda's fender tag has an SPD of A10 which if I understand it correctly means October 10.  The mylar door sticker says 12/69.   Both the fender tag and door stickers are orginal.  Is this unusual to have the mylar sticker 6 weeks after the SPD?
