Welcome, keep looking you'll find what you want.  There's nothing like a Cuda or Challinger, I have and love both, I must sell my 72 Challenger Ralley after I get her back together, you may be interested as she will be so nice!  I sure hate to sell her, at least I still have my 70 440 4 speed Cuda to be thankful for and must keep!  You don't have to give up Ford all the way, like I have a 67 Mustang deluxe coupe I must keep too!  I guess yall know, the man who designed the Mustang left Ford to work at Chrystler.  My neighbor wanted to buy my Challenger and said he wanted to put a 350 in it!  I told him some mean words that he well deserved and ran him out of my yard, I sure was insulted, he's a young punk but that's no excuse!  Good luck finding an E body and you joined a real good family here.

The more I am digging into mopars, the more I think it may not be the best option for me. Everything seems to be harder to find and pricier, I'm only 23 and sold my Lightning because I could not afford it. It's starting to look like this will be pricier to own than the L. I have a few buds with old cars ('67 stang and 76 and 81 camaros) and their cars were pretty cheap to buy, restore and keep running. I have already found plenty of info with installing lt1's ls1's in many chevy's and installing FIed 302's in old stangs, both of which are more affordable.

But I really like the challenger and cuda's bodystyle.

Mopars are the priciest muscle cars, and E-bodies are the priciest Mopars...

Anyway there's at least one member on Cuda-Challenger.com that has successfully installed one of the new Hemi engines in an E-body: 57hemicuda

He has his own webpage too: http://mysite.verizon.net/ls6ron/

It's a convertible 'Cuda with the 5.7L Hemi, and I think he has plans to put a 6.1L Hemi in a hard top 'Cuda.

This may or may not help you as anyway you go, as E-bodies are expensive compared with Ford and GM, but the least expensive E-bodies are the “post performance” models of 1972 to 1974. Since your goal is to add a modern engine to a classic car, the lack of big block engines and the introduction of low compression smog motors in 1972 shouldn’t be an issue.

Although the higher performance of the 1970 and 1971 models factor heavily into the increased premiums, there were also significant changes made to the appearance in 1972 which make them less coveted and expensive. The Challenger has the “sad mouth” grille, and the Barracuda received a grille that is a blend of the 70 and 71, but not as clean as a 70 and not as mean as a 71. The side marker lights were also no longer flush with the body. 1973 saw the introduction of 2.5 mph bumpers, which were simply reinforcements placed behind the bumper moving the tucked in bumpers away from the sheet metal, and the addition of large bumperettes front and rear. The bodies however, are the same and have those classic lines.

I opted for a 1974 Barracuda. Hey, at least all the post performance cars came with front disc brakes and sway bars (I think)!

Welcome to the board. If you're after the modern built classics I have yet to find a better website that houses all these cars (Mopar only) than www.moparx.com Have a drool over these custom creations.

Rev hit it on the head, there's only one step - Buy a Mopar. (All other 11 steps vanish) ing point.
