You could just disconnect the belt at the track as well. :2cents:

Tom

True, but then it would be hard to steer at the track.  I prefer to race a safer version.  Plus with the manual, you do not have to worry about having to reinstall the belt before you go home.  Also 20 pounds over the front axle is still 20 pounds.

Thanks for the steering suggestion, but I'm pretty confident that it'll turn a 13 without any more modifications. Maybe some tuning. The air is only getting better, remember that the last time i went i was fighting 5,200ft air  :eek4:, just a month later without changing a thing I'll probably pickup a tenth just due to better air. That, combined with the new fuel system, which i was acting up a LOT that day, a little better tune and my little ram-air setup..it should to it  :2thumbs:

Hey Mike,

I was just in your neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago and was duly impressed by the convection oven you call outdoors.  My question is, and I hate to steal your thread, how can you use the Cuda as a daily driver and not have air conditioning?  The heat out there during the summer months is STIFLING!!!!! :faint:

Your numbers with the 318 look good.  One thing you might try if you remove the heads again is a little porting (I didn't notice anything mentioned about new heads or head work in prior threads).  That was one thing I did to my 318 (along with a street/strip cam) that made a big difference in performance.

Good luck,

fantum

haha....oh summer in the 'Cuda. Yes, rediculous about would describe it when it tips about 113* out here :eek4:, but yes it still took me wherever I needed to go all summer, its just getting decent now. I do know some head porting would be a good idea, few months and I'll be buying something to tool around in once I move to Florida and I can take it apart to mess with it. I'll be buying Eddie heads for my 360, who knows, maybe ill break them in on the 'teen  :grinyes:

Goin back out tonight. New fuel system, better air, my little ram air setup and a little better tune it seems to see if i can click off a 13. Wish me luck, air has been low 4,000s, but still  :eek4:

Unhook your dimmer switch and see if the fuse lives. If it is the dimmer switch you can live without it for the races.

I would listen to beepbeep.

I had a similar light problem years ago and it was the dimmer switch, but you have additional symptoms I did not have.

Best of luck Mike!
