Help with a Holley Double Pumper
« on: August 27, 2006 - 12:43:57 AM »
This might just be for Neil (or anyone who can help), but I have a couple quick questions about the Holley carb......

I just took off a Carter and the Holley seems to be right in the way of the Coil now.  Where's a good spot to put it with the Holley?  pics?

Also, it looks like the Holley needs two fuel lines coming in to it?  One for the front bowl and one for the back bowl.  The Carter only neede one.... what's the easiest way to do this?

Thanks!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I can only help with the second question, yes it does require fuel to feed both front/rear bowls. Mr. Gasket, Summit, Holley, Russel, etc, etc all make little line setups that will hook to AN or have a nipple for rubber line.

I use the factory coil bracket but only use 1 bolt to hold it onto the outer hole to get it out of the way of the holley carb

Cody,

Just a word about the duel-feed fuel line. Make sure you buy one with the correct spacing between the feeds. I needed 9 5/16 inch for my double-pumper, but they do make a shorter version too, that I bought by mistake.  :swear:  :stomp:

the short version is for the single metering block carbs that use a metering plate inside the fuel bowl instead

Cody, this is the ONLY way to go with a Holley on a Mopar. Don't do the generic chebbie line. Also this guy makes a coil relocation bracket. Both at reasonable prices ($40 and $15 respectively)

I have seen that before, maybe even from one of your previous posts. My question is about the botton end. This looks like a solid line the whole way, but I have an after-market mechanical fuel pump. I'm just wondering if this is just made for the stock set-up or not?  Thanks for any info.

Mike, I have this setup on my 440 and just like the stock line (for a Carter/Eddy), it ends just short of the mechanical pump where a small piece of rubber fuel line finishes the connection. Believe me, it's a quality piece and just plain looks slick!
