    I'm assuming this is for an Ebody.  Why would you want an 8.25?  What motor and trans. are you running?

    I have seen folks swap in the 8 3/4 from a 60s B-body into A-bodies.

    You have to move in the spring perches but you would have to do that anyway if you are fitting big tires

    "Sheperd to lost sheep (dukeboy)" , That's not a cheep rearend to find (8 3/4) in an a-body.  I've seen 8 1/4 out of f-bodies put into a's, but the tires ride very close to the wheel lips.

    If the 340 is a good one and hooks up it will destroy the 8 1/4.  In the long run the 8 3/4 is a cheaper deal especially if you factor in time.  I have seen them in the last 2 months at local shows for as little as $250.  The other alternative is to get any 8 3/4 you can find and shorten it to the Abody size.

    I have a 8 3/4 already rebuilt with moser axles,new posi,gear set,ect. all new inside just needs cleaned up and painted email me if ya want a pic

    I know a fellow in Salmon Arm BC Canada that has two excellent A body 8-3/4 rear eands for sale and two A833 4 speeds for sale. I believe he wanted $750CDN each for the rears complete drum to drum. Can confirm after the weekend of 16/17th Sept if you email me before next Friday 15th. kiwirv6@shaw.ca
