Newbe, from Georgia
« on: August 28, 2006 - 02:07:42 PM »
I just registered today, so hello to everyone.
I am glad to see that there is a site just for E-bodies.
I have had my 71 Challenger for about 11 years now (most of it in storage).  I recently got it back out and rebuilt a 360 (about 380-400 hp).  It was originally a 318 and I wanted more power, but I also want to stay with a small block.  I have a website, www.jacksboys.com, that explains a little more about the Challenger and a few other Mopars that my family owns.  The 904 trans was rebuilt, but i still have to replace the original 7 1/4 rear with an 8 3/4, so I have not had a chance to take it down the quarter yet.  It can get about 17 mpg on the highway.  I took it on part of the 2006 Hot Rod Power Tour and only had one problem (a flat tire), and I also have a few pics of the tour on my site.

Thanks for the big welcome, and thanks for liking my car.  It still needs some cosmetic improvements before it could be a show car, but I like it just like it is.
I do not have a bunch photos of the Challenger, but here are a few.  I also included my Dakota which has the same basic paint job.
I am in a small town about 30 minutes west of downtown Atlanta.

Sounds like you're out by Six Flags.  If you see my car at any of the shows or cruise-ins, stop by and introduce yourself....I'll do the same.  Great looking car!

stuart,
I would love to go to the Hayes meet at Atlanta Dragway, but I work six days a week and I have been a little short on cash this month, so I will have to miss it this year.  If you hear of any other local car shows in the north Georgia area, let me know.

Rev-It-Up,
I did not realize you lived so close to me, I am about an hour southwest, in Douglasville.  I noticed that you are an Administrator, so how long has this website been open?

The site's been up and running for close to 5 years now.  69ChargerRT (Ross) is the owner and started it way back when.  I've been around almost since the beginning (as many others have).  After a while it becomes like home...you really get to know the folks like family.  We meet once a year up at Carlisle in July and have a great time.  The people here are fantastic...not argumentative and very protective of this community with an unending desire to help others.  People who come to start trouble don't usually last very long...we have lots of peace-keepers here.  :grinyes:

Glad you found us!
