Door panel in white for convert.

I am at the point of getting new white door panels for my conv. 70 challenger.  Any suggestion on a source for new repros?  I've heard some are better than others.  I'm also concerned about the color since my seats are in good shape and I want it all to match.  I tried the spray on thing and it didn't work for me, too easily scratched.  Any advise??

To be honest, I don't think anyone has been real happy with any of the repro's out there. I bought a set myself(Palco's). They fit with a little tweaking, but I didn't like the hard plastic feel to them. Kind of cheap, if you know what I mean. I think your best bet is to find a nice pair of originals and dye them with SEM products. I think you will be far happier that way.

Thanks for the info.  Unfortunatly, the previous owner has sprayed the panels and the paint is scraped up.  Any ideas on how to remove the old paint without damaging the panels so I can re-spray them right?

That is OK.

I used a power washer to take the flaking paint off of mine.  Just don't use the pencil tip it may cut panel.  It was a homeowner model @ 1600psi.

The white is Ditzler code 8849.

You can get it anywhere that can mix a Ditzler brand code.  It is an off white color.  A PPG paint store specializes in Ditzler paint. If someone needs it in a Chrysler code I can get it.

Is this truly a dye or is it a paint.  I've had bad luck with paint but am willing to try a dye.

My paint supplyer can mix it either way.  You will have to see what your supplier can do.
