How many have ran down the 1/4 in their C-C?
« on: August 30, 2006 - 01:11:31 PM »
Just curious as to how many guys/gals have taken their Mopars down the 1/4, heck even 1/8th? Competition, or just for fun, lets here what your running and how fast you've gone. Just for kicks.

Guess i'll start it off,  :eek4:

Taken mine down 36 times since last November. Subtracting the change in altitude since the first past, to the most current I've knocked 1.3seconds off my time with a new converter, leaf springs, and lower gears and without a change to the motor (except tuning of course). Every time I go out I have a blast, any of you guys that have thought about doing it, just go. Just the whole scene, searching for tenths, reaction times, gruge races, etc, etc just makes it fun.  :2thumbs:

Nooo...I wouldn't put Mickey T ET Drags on cop rims with dog dishes...not me... :grinno:

Time - best r/t is a .004 on a pro-tree :bigshades:, 1.9 60ft, 8.9 1/8th @ 75, 14.0 1/4 @ 95 at 5,200ft. 3,600lbs.

'Corrected' it is a 13.0 @ 101. So pretty much, as long as the air isn't over 5,000ft, and we know it wont be perfect 0...its a 13 second car.  :thinkerg:

Don't worry as long as you can drive your car without missing shifts and you dont pass the staging light multiple times. There will be someone there that will make you look like a pro.  :smilielol:

My best time in the Kuda (factory stock 440-4bbl w/ 4 speed and 3:54's) is a 14.01 at 101 mph in the quarter. That's thru muffs and street tires :burnout:

Not too shabby, 101 should be good for low 13s once you got it all dialed in and such. I'm fighting relatively 'high' altitude which of course doesn't help my lil motor.  :villagers: Theres a local guy here with a 440-6 4speed GTX that can't get out of low 14s on stickies, yes...he'd see 318 powered round tail lights  :grinyes:

Mike,

That's interesting. What do you think his problem is? A stock cam, or badly tuned 6-pack??  :dunno:

Stock cam would still run pretty good, probably more tuning than anything. Gotta be a fine art to tune all three  :pullinghair:

1/4 mile - hundreds of times though not as often the past couple years.Best time is 13.26 @ 102mph with the old 340/727 setup right off the street only lowering tire pressure on the hard BFG T/A`s.Current combo with more cam, ported heads, bigger carb and a switch to the 4 spd and I cant` break out of the low 14`s!  :banghead: I only go on street nights but have won the King of the Street bracket type race on friday nights twice, once with the auto and once with the 4 gear! I plan on pulling the engine this winter (again!) to find out where my new combo went wrong and maybe finally hit the high 12.xx second time I want next spring.

12 flat..... in the viper,

Right now it would take me a week to push the Challenger a 1/4 mile!  :violin:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Never but I'm going to look at taking the 'Cuda.
Get the butterflies out the way of the first run and then they say you're hooked.  :bananasmi

I'd hope the 'Cuda would pull low to mid 13's.  :swaying:

Mrs. panther ran the chally at Topeka for the first time down the track (her and the car) ran 15 something, didn't run it as hard as she could since it was her first time and, went to run again and they shut it down due to weather.  hopefully in St. Louis we can run it again.
