Calendar Submissions: One Man's Observations
« on: September 02, 2006 - 08:49:07 AM »
Once again we have an outstanding group of Cudas and Challegers to feast our eyes upon. There are however some tongue in cheek comments I'd like to make. Please don't take offense, it's all in fun.
First off, I've never seen so many cars on grass. Do we usually drive them on this surface ? :clueless:
Secondly, some cars are in driveways. Is that the furthest you can push them without starting the engine? :smilielol:
Lastly, cars in progress are a labor of love and are interesting to see; just not in a calendar. Maybe like "Cars in Barns" you can form a group and publish something similar.
To all who took the time to submit, good luck. And to all who dared to be different with action shots, camera angles and backgrounds; great work!

Yupe, great bunch of photos a couple are "different" but still very worthy.

I have to disagree with you on the project cars, I think they are great and Barry's is an awesome one, I love it!
I won't say if I voted for it or not but I think it sums up what restoring a car is/can be like with just a single image.

Well done everyone, wish we lived on Jupiter and had 34 months a year.

Kudd kid,

I think it's unfair of you to judge other peoples photography.  I mean come on your is sitting on some railroad tracks.  What's up on that?

It stalled there. I'm hoping the tow truck comes before the A train! :scared:

BTW, I'm not picking on any one individual. It's public domain and all in fun.

I read it as such, no problem with me even if I had an unfinished car or parked on the grass or in my driveway after pushing it out. LOL No problem in my opinion. I actually thought it was a good and actually funny post. Thanks.  :2thumbs:

Mine starts and drives, so no pushing needed,  I was just too lazy to un-Barry it.

Kudd kid,

Good come back.  You took it as expected.  I have a 70 Challenger R/T project that I submitted for the calendar but it was to small of a picture.  I want to wait and have it done for a calendar.  Maybe we should try for two calendars.

How about the photographers-risking serious injury or death lying in the middle of the road and hanging on tree branches just to catch a pic of the elusive `cudas and Challengers at the right angle!  :smilielol:  My photographer Phil had to not only risk getting run over but also smoke inhalation!  :burnout:

Barry, I'd vote for you simply for the untiring effort you put into this hobby. Yo da man!

Thanks for the compliment, but personally I just entered just for fun and to add a little variety to the contest. I would hope that the photos are judged on their own merits, not by who owns the cars, took the photos or what the cars owners do. There are several photos in the contest that are a whole lot better than mine, voting was tough!

As far as project cars go, I get more comments about the T/As in barns section on my website that anything else on either of my sites. People love to see them.

I am always looking for new original submissions for the HH site as well for 1970 Hamtramck built cars, projects, salvage yard finds, restored, whatever, all are welcome. Hit me with a good photo and it will go up on the site. All I ask is that they are original photos not posted elsewhere.

Best of luck to all the calendar contest participants!
