:roflsmiley:

Several good tips here so far. Lighting is crucial, night or day use the available light to your advantage. One tip I do not remember seeing in this thread is the use of a flash even on a bright day. The flash can "fill" in areas that would otherwise leave shadows which can be distracting as well.  :picture:

good point about the flash on a sunny day.....sometimes if there isn't alot of light, a flash will make the reflectors in the tail lights/sidemarkers glare too much....be careful with the use of a flash........I like to have the parking lights on in photos too (when I think to turn them on)

thx for the feed back that was 1 of the 30+ pics i took at that location with a sony dig camera that pic is less than 1 mb where as all the others we took was 5mb.  And your comment on the bright/yellow cars in a grass fiels w/tree is so true at first i love this pic but the lighting and the lack of color contrast makes the car look green

thank you once again and im done picking your brain for now. :worshippy

...the grass pix....do you see what I am talking about with the shadows ??? the shadows are on the wrong side of the car....the picture needed to be shot from the other direction to eliminate them....

glad you see what I was talking about....too much green/yelo in the pix....not as pleasing to the eye as another background might have been

ps....just trying to help....don't want to sound like a smarta$$

taking car pictures is one of my favorite hobbies...

Why are the only other cars on the road all in my rear view mirror?  Oh yeah cause I got a 440/6 pack

Thank you GOD for the "Go Fast Division"

A buddy has a long conversation with his Cuda after it came home late one night. The gas was low, so it it obviously had the munchies. The headlights were red, filiments dilated. The Cuda lied about it of course, but it was quite obvious that it smelled of Sassy Grass.

Yea those children of the '70s can be real problems, I found out that mine had a bad habit. Once snort started,  it would follow a white line anywhere.  :smokin:

 :iagree:

I agree with most of the tips but it also sounds like a lot of personal opinion too.
Grass though IMO isn't the best, makes the car look heavy in most cases, not all, but most.

Another tip is not to get so close, the further back you go and use the zoom the more dramatic the effect.  :2thumbs:

Wow this thread was funny but still informative.  I didn't know where to get my shot, but I knew not on the grass somewhere.  Even though I shouldn't I'll say one of my fav's is the one with the car coming from the country road.  Seeing the road come in from the back of the pic and down to the front and then the car is there, I think that is great.  I wonder though, would it have been more dramtic if the background was out of focus.  That was one thing I wanted to do was get a shot and have the background blurred.  That way the subject of the photo would be obvious right away and anything distracting in the background wouldn't be noticed.
Anyway, lots of great cars were submitted and I don't know if I can wait until the 13th!  And the comment about the car coming home all Sassy Grass  :roflsmiley:
