anybody heard anything good or bad of erson cams. I have one here advertised duration 280 in  292 exh  duration @ .050 208 in 214 exh gross lift 420 in 449 exh
Would this be a good cam for a mild street 340  ld 340 intake  im looking fo something with good street manners

really it is too mild for a mild 340
 better grinds are available that would be close to a stock cam lift wise with excessive duration

Chryco do you think the Engle k 56 would be a good choice? Is .504 lift to much for stock springs. or any valve to piston clearence issues?

I do not recommend using the stock springs , , valve to piston clearance is generally good to .530 lift approx but it is worth checking clearance
 the K 54 or K 54 / K 56 may work better , the K 56 does work well & has a higher powerband than you may want in a mild application as you stated , yopu can discuss your needs with Engle & they will custom graind a cam as well
 The other option is VooDoo from Lunati these cams work well too , but a custom grind may be harder to get

Give Erson a call, they will ask for the specs and how you are going to use your engine and can custom grind a cam for you.

I've never heard of Erson cams are they pretty good?

never used an Erson Cam , Have used 20+ Engles though www.englecams.com

one more question... does anyone know where to get a timing gear set for a small block??? I see jegs and summit have them for big blocks. but I can't find one for a small block... Maybe yhey don't even make them.....

never had a problem getting one , the JP performance billet Aussie ones are nice with 7 keyways to degree the cam as well

I have custom Erson cams in a 340 and 383.  No problems.
