Some actual progress!
« on: September 04, 2006 - 11:44:03 PM »
Well amazingly enough I'm actually going to post some pics that aren't in the 'babe' section! :lol2: I've been stalled for quite awhile with my Chally for a number of reasons besides just lack of money. Even though I'm definitly not a 'everything must be exactly stock, factory, OE' kind of guy I think you still need to have some kind of vision of what you want the end result to look like and for some time I havn't been happy with some of my previous work in the engine bay which leads to a loss of motorvation which.....anyway I'm sure lots of you have been there. Anyway I decided to get some parts which traditionally would be painted black a colour change. Because my car is gonna be fm3 when it's done I decided that plum crazy would probably look good with the pink. I got the wiper motor, fan motor, brake booster and master cylinder, the horns, the distributor, the coil, the battery tray and the waterpump done plus the clamps and mounts I made for the heater hoses. I kinda just threw everything on so I could take some pics but I'm really happy with the way it looks.
Cheers Paul

Thanks for your encouragment guys

Carl: Off the top of my head the short list of things to do is: put the gas tank back in and run new fuel lines, replace all the brake lines, replace all the electrical wiring, get the dash recovered, get new carpet, reinstall all the interior, get new diff, finish the exhaust, fit go wing, get car painted and reassmbled and hopefully win lotto to pay for it all!

Mopar fanatic: yeah the valve covers were one of those things I was undecided on, have a firm plan now!

4Cruizn: more babe pics to come! :naughty:

M.P. - Well spotted, they are Edelbrock heads. So are the Valve covers (elite series) I found with the polished covers and the alloy heads I didnt like the way it looked so I just gave the covers a quick spray with different colours to find something I was happy with. In the end good old basic black was the winner so I'll get them powder coated when I have some spare cash.
Cheers Paul

Paul,

Good choice. The polished valve covers are a pain to keep looking nice. I tossed mine.  :smilielol: Yep, too much work.

LMAO!!! I hear ya bud, I hear ya.
I feel like pulling my 'Cuda out of restoration right now and just sitting in my room crying.  :crying:

When you get to the Go-Wing don't use the ARP set up, it's weak. I can send you some photos on what we did to make it stronger using the whole deck lid, not just the outer skin........just a thought.

Hey CUDA JAS,
THat is a very odd color combo on an E-body, but for some reason I like it.

I'll take that as a compliment.  The paint job is 14 years old and a little dated, but I still like it.

Back when I painted the car it was just a hot rod and I wanted sometign different. The car is due for a paint job now, as it is starting to show its age.  The next paint job will liekly incorporate the same colors, just to be different.
