Yes, and it is growing and getting better because we each year have had more participate as a "club". The first year as I guess you could call an official c-c.c gathering at Carlisle was in 2003 and there were 7 people of which 2 were friends or guest of members who attended. We stayed at the same motel and had a little 10X10 shelter tent to huddle under. Of that little group only Pam and I have been able to attend each year since. And we are looking forward to seeing even more "Mopar Buds" in 2007. See ya........................

Hi, here is my plan. Can you please give me your comments!

1) Flying from Finland to New York and staying there few days. (Shopping with my wife and son...expensive!!!)
2) Taking a rental car and driving to Carlisle on thursday - can I find Carlisle easily when driving from New York?
3) Best hotels or motels?
4) Carlisle friday, saturday & sunday. What then...places worth to visit near Carlisle or driving back to N.Y?

Well, if you are taking all the trouble to come here from Finland to go to Carlisle, you at least have to hit up Hershey Park while you are out there. It is extremely close, and is a fun day for the whole family (rollercoasters, chocolate... what more could you ask for? ). Then, it depends on how big of a detour you are willing to take. You can drive pretty directly from Carlisle to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, or back to NYC. DC is a great city if you want to do the whole museum/monument/government building kind of thing. Philly has a fair deal of museums (Franklin Institute, Constitution Center) and also has Independence Hall, amongst other historic landmarks. There's also the Camden Waterfront by Philly (you ONLY want to go to the waterfront, and ONLY during the day... the city isn't the most dangerous in America just by coincidence), where you can visit the Camden Aquarium and take a tour of the Battleship USS New Jersey. Since you will already have gone to NYC, I don't know if you want to go back, but there is a lot of things to do there, and you will not run out.
You are probably best off arranging to fly into NY, and out either through DC or Philly.

All that aside, I am hoping to be at Carlisle this year, and hopefully there on a day (possibly days) when everyone else is. (If not, this time I will actually take the left-behind food. Sourdough bread, anyone? )

Just to add to what Moparmatt said, You will have close to a 3.5 hour drive from New York City to Carlisle. It is pretty much a straight shot West, so you shouldn't have much trouble hopefully. Most of us stay at the Fairfield Inn in New Cumberland, Pa. I'm sure info on that will be posted early next year when we get a block of rooms reserved. If you make it here, you will hold the record of having traveled the most miles to get to Carlisle!!

Arctic, it would be a great pleasure to meet a member from a different continent.  I'll probably be making the hotel reservation for the block of rooms for CC.com in another month or so.  Please plan on staying at the hotel with the rest of us...we have a blast hanging out together all weekend long.

Thanks all for nice replys! Last November I visited Pomona Finals & NHRA Museum, Long Beach swap meet, Las Vegas etc. with our American Car Club members. We had really nice time! Of course this time I want take my family with me. We'll see how it goes, it's not going to be cheap holiday.

I think I added my location, its 2-1/2 hours each way for me... not a bad little trip.  I don;t stay the nite there, usually head out for a day.  I spend too much on my toys   Unless something drastic happens, expect me there!

You've got it made!!  It's 9 hours one way for me!     I know there are members here that drive farther than that though . . streetchallenged73 is many hours past me and usually splits it up in two days!
