Vintage Races Trans Am Cars
« on: September 10, 2006 - 07:37:06 PM »
I just returned from an excellent weekend of watching vintage racing at Watkins Glen.  It was the 40th running of the Can Am cars and the special group was Trans Am cars.  Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from today.  I have another memory stick full with some more pictures.  I also got Vic Edelbrock's and his daughter's autographs across a picture of the two cars they have (Camaro and Mustang) that were featured in Muscle Car Review.  My wife loved it too.  She got a kick out of seeing everything from Cooper Minis to Ferraris competing.

Been to one here when they raced during the Vintage Races. Couple times 2001 and 2002. Kool to see those cars and to watch them race. The 77 Challenger almost caught the Mustang at the finish line both times.

Nice pics, looks like Chicagoland wasn't the only races with rain looming overhead. The number 77 Chally is in an add for the Coronado Classic Speed Festival. On page 21 of Vintage Motorsport magazine, but looks more Sublime color. Cool car!
70 Chally R/T Convertible- Yes she's really got a HEMI, no she's not a Charger!

Great pics!

Always love seeing these classic racecars!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I saw the vintage races down Lime Rock Conn. a few years ago and it was great seeing all the old race cars being flogged at seriuos speed. The Challenger was there but unfortunatly the `cuda wasn`t.  :walkaway:
