OK.......Had a small birthday last week........Now 59....... :o..anyway...my two boys surprised me on Sunday with my present........There is a local shop that specilizes in restoration and the engine compartment is a prize area......SO.....I get a complete engine detail job.  I know that when I did the engine bay...I did not pull the engine and when painted I did it in black as the car is yellow and black.   Well.....not for long......thats part of the deal.  And the bay is supposed to look as if it came from the factory when I get her back.   He said it would take about 2 to 3 weeks.  I am now waiting for the call to take her to the shop.  Pics to follow.............

Here is a few as she sits now..............

Any chance their doing the suspension......would be THE ideal time with the engine out.

Hey Wade.  They actually do not take the engine out.  I have seen several he has done and they look great.......2 to 3 weeks for the process...........I  don't know if the wife will let me back in the garage after she gets to park in the middle again for while the car is gone....!!!!!!!!!!!

Update..........Delivered the car an hour ago.......Now the waiting...............More before pics........

WOW....That's a heck of an improvement, hard to believe they did not remove the motor.

Looks great!  What an improvement!

BTW - I have painted dozens of engine compartments without removing the engine.  It's really not that hard.  the hardest part is scuffing the old paint and taping up all of the stuff.  One trick I learned a few years ago was to use aluminum foil to wrap up components instead of paper - it's a LOT more compliant and lets you have as much space as possible to get the paint where it needs to go.
