Close to THE ROCK, 1970 R/T S/E Challenger, 8/13 update
« on: September 11, 2006 - 06:51:53 PM »
Ok . A place to update progress and such.  I have a web site....  http://www.papadaveonline.com/   My son does the updating and I pick the pics to send to him to post.  On this site I will post some of the pics that I may have a question  about. I have read a lot of the posts and know that there are a lot of you guys who are like me and want to do the very best to restore to close to show quality but are willing to settle for a great looking car to drive thru Sonic on Thursday night!!  We do a lot of the work in our garages and hope the wife will put up with the mess for a while.  I have the best wife!!!  I do try to straighten up once in a while and she is able to park her vehicle in too.  Anyway, over the next few days I will put on a few pics. In the meantime please look at the site.  I started in April of 2004.  Not progressing as fast  as I would like but when you have 3 grandaughters, 4 1/2, 4, and 2....Well you know....  By the way...........The Rock..........North Carolina Speedway...Where we no longer have any  races!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My site was updated yesterday....  http://www.papadaveonline.com/index.html . I ordered a couple more parts from Year One.  They should be here tomorrow. Then I can put the gas tank on, hook up the fuel and return line, install a filter (I think before the vapor seperator) and attempt to fire up the noise maker.  The last time I fired it up the neighbor ran out  of her house with a fire extinguisher........( It had not been cranked in a year....a little smoke).     More later, David :working:

I see that you attended a car show in Myrtle Beach last March. I think that would be a great getaway for us Southerners. Is that an annual event, and do you know of a website?
Thanks

Hey, Dayley, I went to the Autofair. Lots of nice stuff there, but very little e-body material. I saw 3 cars (2 70 Challengers for show, 1 70 Challenger project) and 1 guy selling e-body parts.  I could be assembling a Mustang from scratch, OTOH  :eek7: Still, a lot of nice cars to walk around and see.

I was disappointed at the size. They pitch it as being comprable to Carlisle, but the outer parking lots were pretty much just that, parking. I went to one that had a couple dozen vendors, but almost all of the action was in the infield.

We have updated the site some. The fuel tank and etc.  I still have more pics to add  but I am making progress.  When you go to the auto parts store it seems you never get quite enough stuff.  I was short 2 clamps today.  So more pics by the end of the week.   David

OK I am adding a request.  I need pics of  a 440 fuel line location from the vapor seperator up to the carb.  I put in 3/8" hose from the top of seperator up and over the distributor to the carb but I am having trouble  as it has become a pinched hose between the alternator and the wate pump.   Help.......what do I need?  Thanks in advance.  David

Its me again.........I keep trying  to fugure out how to do certain things and then it just hits me.  I will post  pics tomorrow of the fuel line routing up by the alternator to the carb.  I was able to bend the 3/8" line in the configuration it needed to be (somewhat) to get from point A to point B.  I think it will work well.  David
