Well folks, I received an pm the other day from a member here and after looking at the resto thread, he noticed that I had a 73 steering wheel on my 70. He asked if I wanted a 70.  Now in the back of my mind I thought someday I may try to find one but had gotten used to the one I had.  I pm'ed him back and said of course.  Well this is the best deal I ever  got.  He didn't want anything for the wheel and even shipped it to me no charge.  Just another wonderful gesture from another great member.  I won't identify him unless he wants to be identified.  Not sure how he feels about being identified as a great guy so it is up to him to claim the credit.  Anyway, the wheel is installed and looks great.   Pics  attached.  The old wheel and the new..........

i attended the mopars at the rock this past year. The show just hasn't been the same since the dealership in Aberdeen quit sponsoring it and cape fear mopar club took it over. Well to me that is. It just seems that if you are not in the cape fear mopar club, you do not place in the car show. this was the same scenario as it was in Goldsboro, on the AFB there a few years back, when that club, also, sponsored the showing. I didn't enter the show , so i have no grudges against them one way or the other, but it was something that i did notice.

This years car show judging was done by Port City Mopars out of Wilmington. They did a good job and the rain really messed things up. Anyway, this was the first year I was able to take my car and I was surprised and pleased to get a  second in class when I only went to be there.......

Aside from that point..........how do you guys feel about new Challenger type exhaust tips being on a 70?  These are not the split type.  But they do fill up the cutout.

I've always been a big fan of the original style exhaust tips, but you should of course use what you really like. Do you have any pics, Dave?

I'm sure the style would look fine but what are the chances that they are the right size?

That would be too easy now, wouldn't it?? I would be surprised if they put any thought into this being the same size as the originals, Sorry I can't offer any help here.   :sadwavey:

Hey Wade and Mike.  I wondered where you guys have been.  The tips from outside to outside are the same measurement as the double tip.  They fit the opening  and the only difference is the split.  If everything goes well, I should have pics of the entire new exhaust system by next weekend.  My $20 Thrush just isn't cutting it and since I only have  2" pipes, the sound is not there.  As far as the original tips are concerned, they look great but I always, even on my original 70, had issues with the sound.  I think that I will be satisified with the look and I will also post a video on my web site of the new sound.  A FOURTH OF JULY BIG NOISE FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bananasmi :bananasmi
