Had too come home and fire up the Hemi today...I just HAD TOO!! Anyway it's been a rainy damp day here. She fires right up but wont stay running so I figure I'll check the choke out. I undo the shaker/breather assy to find a new (looking) Holley 4779-9 1212 (remember I bought this at a dealer auction no time to research this stuff). Anyway its set for a manual choke, but no cable attached to adjust it. Should I just cable it or convert it?  - hence the poll question.  :faint:

I would wire the choke wide open so it cannot close , but the other option is to connect a cable to it

I use electric if a choke is needed. Too many times I have found myself or customers who hit the cable or forgot about it and ended up fouling plugs and stuff. I just prefer the "pump it twice and hit the key" deal. Otherwise, I wire them wide open and dont run a choke. I have a choke on my truck, and I think one or two cars over the years I've installed chokes on. For the most part, you dont need it unless you're cold starting in weather below 40°.

The cable can be a pain. If there is the slightest turn, you have a hard time opening and closing the choke all the way. If you must use a choke, go electric.

I also prefer the electric if it is needed.  Just crank it and drive.
