I know if you have an icon in the address bar you can drag it and make a link easier.

Hi - new around here and stumbled across this question. Basically, the first step is creating an .ico (Icon file) and it needs to be hosted somewhere. In the <head> coding of the template of this site, you need to enter in this code below, but changing the respective things.

Code: [Select]
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://yoursite.com/favicon.ico" />

Hope that helps some. I've done some website design work in my free time and it always pays to read the code of successful sites.

As far as icon creation goes, you're going to need a program that can open and save .ico files as they're not a standard in image editing software programs. Photoshop, with a correct plugin can do this, but there are some specifics that have to be followed for the icon to show up in the address bar and the favorites links. For IE, the .ico image must be 16x16 pixels, RGB mode and contain no more then 8 bits per channel. Those fluent in graphic editing will understand this.

I'd be happy to help with this in some way if need be.

Great site here - I'm going to keep poking around!

Enjoy the site...and I may take you up on your offer to help.  Thanks again!

Thanks for the welcome and I've certainly enjoyed what all I've found so far! Even for an A-body guy, there's tons of great info here that can be applied towards any old Mopar. :clapping:

Just let me know what you might need - I might even be able to come up with a few design ideas for you too. My email is in my profile.

TABG, thanks for the codes given. I will try to make an icon this way for our private homepage. They look much greater than standard explorer-icon.  :cheers:

You're welcome! I installed the plug-in into PS and it seems to work great. The trick is being able to create an image completely blown up, then size it down to the 100% view and have it look good!

Treefrog - don't know what to say, it could just be something on the network at your work. All of mine have saved no problem.

a lot of work for a logo that will be gone, and not reloaded by most...but still a cool idea
