I always thought that the clear would be the expensive part!

To be honest with you, if you bought 1 gal and 3 qts BC plus reducer. And then 1 1/2 -2 gal clear plus hardner and reducer you will probably have between $800 -$1200 in materials. This is very realistic to do a car inside and out properly.

I used the same paint, My E7 (burnished red metallic ) was 450 a gal 2 years ago, I don't wanna think of what a quart might be now, I'm close to done but not sure if the little I have left will do it?
spensive stuff! :money:
Almost forgot, the 74 is a B5 car, I'll need that too in a few years!  :22yikes: Rich.

I dont think that's unreasonable, if it's walking out with everything. Like they said, you have the color, the reducer, and the hardener/activator. Some hardeners are $50 for a quart.

Ben's Paint in Orlando quoted me prices for a Gallon of A4 Winchester Gray Metallic in Deltron (which is one of the upper end BC systems).

1 Gal Deltron Base $256.40
1 Gal Reducer         $37.80
1 Gal Clear           $170.45
1 Qt  Activator      $77.65

TOTAL w/ Tax    $577.55

SPECIAL NOTE....For those considering Winchester Gray Metallic, note that the paint code was only readily available in their bottom line BC system. I had to buy a pint of that base in order to shoot a test card. The Deltran will get mixed up based on a color match. When I get it mixed up, I'll post the color code for the archives.

no - the hardener and reducer were not included in that price... I am going to some other disty's in San Antonio or something and get some quotes... if it makes 200-250 difference in price I would drive another 50 miles to go get it.
