throwout bearing diameter question
« on: September 16, 2006 - 10:21:24 AM »
going with a hydraulic clutch setup. My richmond tranny says its got an input spline diameter of 1-3/16.
From McLeod, I can get a universal bearing with a 1-1/8 (1-4/16) diameter. Is the 1/16th ok?
I remember chryco psycho said he used mcleod, if you see this, what bearing are you using?

the brg has to Match the diameter of the brg retainer it slides on not the spline diameter , do you know what diameter the brg retainer on the richmond trans ?

hmm. I thought it was 1 3/16th. I guess i'm missunderstanding. Also, I spoke with richmond and they told me all the factory 4 speed stuff would work, so I assumed the hydraulic bearing would have the same measurement the standard one does.
I'll have to check and see what i've got. I actually have a non-hydraulic throwout that came with the tranny, so maybe that'll give me a btter idea.

Mcleod's catalog isn't working, and summit doesn't have adequate descriptions, so I can't locate the bearing i need. I'll have to make some phone calls.

there are 2 T brgs , the small one for the 23 spline & the larger one for the 18 spline , the only source I can find for the 18 spline is Mopar
