Taillight Panel Badge/Emblem I.D Help
« on: September 16, 2006 - 07:16:55 PM »

We've got the 'Cuda down to bare metal and we've noticed that on the tail panel there are two small holes that are for a badge/emblem. They measure roughly 5-6 inches from hole to hole. If definitely looks factory.

What went here? There was no badge when I got the car, however it has been repainted a couple of times in it's life. The holes weren't welded shut just bogged over. I'm not worried about correctness just curious as to what went here, if it's a cool looking badge/emblem I'll probably put it back on. Please see attached photo for reference.

TIA,
NZ

i don't think there were any emblems on that side.  My Cuda just has the "Cuda" and "Plymouth" emblems on the other side like yours.

Thanks mate, that's what I'm thinking but the holes look factory and measured out.  I have seen something there before on the 'Cudas, go figure, it's when you're not looking at that part but I have definitely seen something on that side. Possibly custom badges or stickers caught the eye but yeah, hopefully Barry will know for sure or FY1 if he's still around.

Thanks for the input.

Some dealerships added their logos, some were tape on and some had pegs. Maybe that is what was there?  :dunno:

Thanks lads, I'll get them welded shut and keep it as-is with nothing there.

The 70's & 71's had the Cuda emblem on that side, didn't they?  Maybe thats what you have seen before.

Thanks inot2old, yupe, I knew that but I'm sure it was on a 72-74 'Cuda I saw them.
Did Gran-Coupes have something on both sides? What ever the case mine is getting covered.
