Well the verdict is in I wiped out the front pump and will be looking for another one.I hope to describe this right It's a 2 groove pump that's capable of holding a 5 clutch hub assembly.I think this was only on a 904 that was hooked up to a 360,probably more common on a van or a truck. If you know of one or where one can be bought please let me know. Also I will have to check my crankshaft for movement(thrust bearing) because something caused the converter to put pressure against this pump.------the Clown

Sounds like an ideal time to look into moving to an overdrive tranny to me.  :thinkerg:

What is the casting numbers on both halves of the pump? Looks like your second gear band was alittle burnt too. Do you have a 5 clutch direct drum?

What happened to cause this?  :clueless: When you said your fan blades bent @ 7K I thought you probably had a fixed fan but that appears to be a clutch fan & the RPMs should not have had much effect unless the clutch locked up.  :eek7:

It definitely looks like the converter was jammed against the pump too tight like you said. Ever figure out why? Crank end play? How long has this set up been running together?

We have been trying to figure out what caused the fan to do that, the clutch feels fine. It's probably gonna be an unsolved mystery. And yes I am running a 5clutch direct drum, that second gear band is from another trans.I am not sure of the casting #s on the pump.

the crank end play feels good it feels good and tight,Lou said he would stop in and check that also. And that was a brand new rebuilt trans,Maybe 50 miles on it before it started to leak fluid.
