Did I make a mistake??
« on: September 18, 2006 - 08:28:39 AM »
I placed an order for suspension tools from laysons.com. I ordered the MS-23000B B&E-body Pro-tool kit and MS-23501 A/B/E-body Control Arm Bushing Remover. I placed this order on Aug. 26.
I called them over a week ago to see if everything was ok. They said they had got the order and they had everything in stock and it would ship soon.

Well I have no tools yet!!! And I am getting a little mad.  :pullinghair: I was hoping to have them this weekend.

Has anyone had problems with Layson's. This is the first time I ordered anything from them, and it may be the last.

Have you contacted them since? May be lost in shipping or something else beyond their control.  :dunno:                                              I always ask that a tracking number be sent when I make a major purchase on-line so that I can SEE what is going on.

bullitt99 they sent no tracking number. No order conformation. No shipping conformation. Nothing.  :swear:

I am going to call later today and see whats up. I just wanted to see if others have had any problems with them.

360cuda, you may be right. I just called, the girl said she would look into it and get back to me this afternoon.  :pullinghair: I told her this was the first time I placed an order with them and it may very well be my last. She could not say if it has shipped or not. She talked about a duplicate order or something saying there was some confusion.  :stomp: If this is the way they handle orders, they will not handle any more orders from me.  :swear: I realy don't want to bad mouth them but if others have been treated this way, maybe it needs done. If it ships today, we will know it was only because of my call. The ship date will tell the truth.

Now I have to wait for them to call back.  :pullinghair:

To remove & install your control arm bushings all you need is a bench vise, a spark plug socket and a piece of pipe a little bigger & longer than the bushing. I,ve taken my front suspension all the way down & the only tool I really needed was a ball joint press and tie rod press that Advance Auto RENTS fot N/C if you return the kit.

David,

It's good to see you back online here again.  :grinyes: I wish you had better news though. I thought Layson's was reputable, but I read here where others have had trouble with them. From my personal experience, I ordered a set of trim rings from them that took a couple of months, and a phone call before I got them. I got the old "they are on back-order" treatment.  :villagers:

Ok. Update. I had to call them. After calling twice (cut off the first time after waiting in the queue) I wanted an answer. What was the status of my order!! Had a long conversation with the guy. Then after a long wait he had my answer. The order shipped TODAY. I told him this was very frustrating to not get a simple order status from them. I did try to keep cool and not blame, but this was not a cool way to do business.  :sadwavey:

Sorry just had to say I may OR may not do business again. At least for me it has been frustrating. Still I have to wait for shipping. Will I have tools this weekend? Who knows.

bullitt99, yea i have done them myself before. I just thought the right tools would be nice for a change.  :working:

Mike, thanks I think they are a good company. Maybe I just fell in a crack or something. Stuff happens.

Layson's sucks. If you can find them at a show, or stop into their place and buy what you want and take it with you that is great. Orders over the phone they lose, throw away or whatever, I will never deal with them again unless I can see it and take it with me.

What a bunch of bs. This morning I had a voice mail message at work, the girl I had talked to had said it shipped on Saturday. Yea right! This is after the guy told me last night it shipped yesterday.

They just could not give a strait answer. BEWARE!!  :stomp:

Update. The tools arrived on Monday. Invoice was printed on the day I called them.

And I see that they have been USED!!!  :stomp:  :stomp:  :stomp:

No lie, look at the condition of this stuff. I guess they had to finish with them first before they shipped to me. The tools are OK. But I paid for NEW tools. Not dirty used ones. I guess they did not think pissing off one guy from Maryland would matter. Now I need them and will be using the tools this weekend on my parts car. So I don't have time to send them back.

All I can say is BEWARE OF LAYSONS!!  :villagers:

I guess I did make a mistake. It will not happen again. I learned the hard way, but I hope my lesson helps others to beware.
