dual purpose susp ?
« on: July 23, 2003 - 03:48:04 PM »
Is it possible to get a car that handles well on the street to hook good at the track ?

I know its a trade off but my car is a street car and will have sway bars and wide tires in the front and KYB shocks. I still would like to beable to drive to the strip ( 2 hrs away) and beable to hook well. this is a mid 12 sec car.

Im not looking for a corner carver or to hang the wheels 2ft in the air just a well balanced street car.

Are caltracs ok to run with a rear sway bar ? How about drag radials with a set up like this ? I dont want to be changing parts at the track.

2 ways you can go , with good leaf springs & good shocks & a pinion snubber you can hook reasonably well
Or use ladder bars & you now have the largest possible rear sway bar by using the axle housing as a 3 " sway bar , I used to corner on 3 wheels all the time with ladder bars :o
I belive you could use a rear sway bar with cal tracs
