Shelbydogg in Nov Issue of HOT ROD MAGAZINE
« on: September 18, 2006 - 05:18:11 PM »
If you have a chance to pick it up, look for the 1/2 page pic of my Challenger racing down the mountain with brand-Xs close behind.  I'll scan a picture as soon as I get my issue. I didn't get to see it yet but have been getting phone calls with the news. :useless: I know!

good job with getting in there.  :2thumbs:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Congratulations!! Can't wait to see it!

I did the "Worthless without pics" smileys too. Why didn't it show up?

There needs to be a space before and after the colons of the smiley shortcut.

Thanks all.  And I fixed the link Rev, Thanks.

The 20 mpg was on last year's tour. This year while up in the mountain, I recorded 22.5 mpg. The oxygen sensor is the key component. The engine only gets enough fuel to satisfy it's 14.7:1 air to fuel mixture, sea level or mile high, it's automatic.

There were some guys on the tour from Colorado, with a carb tune-up for CO.  Their car ran crappy most of the tour till the 2 days up in Mt. Airy. The only way around that is to get some kind of "dial-a-jet" carb or fuel injection.   My car ran great all week and I let Vic Edelbrock Jr. know how pleased I was when I met him and his daughter.

I'll have a 2nd car, a fuel injected 340 72 Cuda in 2007's Power Tour. I already have my rooms in all 7 cities. See you all there!

Hi Rob, Way to go getting to be at the front of the pack in the picture. Your Challenger RT does the E-body world great justice as it is a sharp car and I just love the upgrades with the overdrive and the fuel injection.
By the way I got my 4-speed overdrive linkage adjusted and it seems to be fine now. I'm going up to springfield, IL. this next weekend for the route 66 festival and I'll find out what kind of mileage I get with the 3:23 rear end gears and the 4-speed overdrive I just installed in my 70 Cuda 340.

WOW! Thanks JVhodges!   I'm hoping to get mine in the mail today.  The Hot Rod guys saw me sitting at a look-out point, when they passed, so I think that they wanted me out in front for the pic. They were waiting  and flagged me down for the shoot.

Jeff, ater putting those 295/50s on my car 2 weeks ago, I got my speedo all dialed in with the right gear. let me know if your speedo is off and by how much.  The 100 mile section of 55 up to Springfield would be a great speedo test.
