That car was 20 minutes from me for years.   It was painted black since day one.   Is a B5 car, but I know had black dealership over the b5 to sell it early on it its life.

I was at the Mecum auction and got a chance to scope out that hemi cuda.  I missed it go through the bidding but I heard it bid up into the $700K neighborhood but that was short of reserve so it didn't sell.  The reserve was said to be around $900K :22yikes:
I don't think there is any way to prove for certain it was the last hemi cuda built, it is just that it is the latest one documented? :dunno:

Not worth paying a premium price for, if I bought that car I can be certain a previously unknown one with a later build date would appear within a week! :grinyes:
This red one at the auction was cool and had more options than the blue one.  It bid to $625K which was short of the reserve.

Both beautiful cars, it is a shame that sometimes they are looked at only for their $ value and not just the beauty of them.

It was billed there as the last Hemi Cuda, not the last Hemi ever built.

Here are all the pictures I took.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I read somewhere that a one off 72 Hemi Cuda was built for a Chysler employee. Does anyone recall this?

Nope, no 72 Hemi Cudas ever existed.  Perhaps someone cloned one, but never from the factory.

Never say never...  I will revert you to one of my favroite threads!

http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=7720.0

Im not saying the car exists, just alot of real Mopar people talking details on a 72 Hemi.
Dont forget there werent any 72 440 +6 cars but there are a few documented cases of this happening.

Thats true, however 440+6 was advertised as an option in '72, while the hemi wasnt.

(brocure for '72 charger)
