I think this is the closest to a body-off resto I've seen on a uni-body car

I will never again CRY when I pull a piece off a car & find yet another  2x3 patch I have to make, I though mine was to far gone(way worse than I really wanted to deal with on my first resto) being a lowly clone (of a 360 yet) but like you I'm in it for the building, however it turns out I did 95% of the work myself & will be somewhat proud of it, kudos to you MR Clown thats great stuff ! Thank you,and I just want to say I am really impressed by the people on this site that take on some huge work because they want a car and nothing stops them.I hope to meet at least some of you but feel I already know some of you by what I see going on in your garages,or car ports,or driveways. My work will have to come to a stop in a couple of weeks, old man winter will be knocking on my door and since there is no heat in my garage I will shut down till spring. So to all of you keep on going if you can and make sure you post plenty of photo's because I really enjoy this section. And remember you only get one shot at this life so no coulda, woulda, shoulda's, if you want it--do it--------------------------------The Clown

Nice pics, clown!

Amazing that you can do all that work AND keep this post updated!

Nice shots if the cowl.  I think I know where mine is leaking now from the mouse house!  :stomp:
:2thumbs: Check right above the brake pedal from the floor pan to the firewall. the factory never pinched these together and it may be where your leaks coming from.  ---dave---

i did exactly the same thing with a 70 cuda. i hope your motive is self satisfaction because bythe time you are done you will find that you could buy one finished for the same or even less $. the difference with mine was the cowl, firewall & tail panel were far worse & need total disassembly but i caught a break with rear floor pan area thanks to a very leaky trans that coated the under carriage with grease. i.ll post some photos soon.
mopar on brother.

Clown I used to use a 30K BTU Propane heater in my detached garage.  Made it bearable and the propane burns pretty clean so no major CO.  You could by  $20 detector just in case.  It would heat it up in @15 min.  Just a thought :dunno:

We use an old wood burner and its a 4 car garage, not sure actual size, its gets over 80 degrees in there, actually way too hot!

Winter is my favorite time to work on em, so get some heat and no excuses!

You are better man then I for keeping this one from going to its final resting place. I would have had to just let it go.

This would be like stopping a good action movie right in the middle, and waiting till spring to start again.  Could there be a "Heat the clown garage" donation in the making?  Someone might have an extra heater they're not using for example?  If I had one I'd give it up.  I miss my cuda, and your intesive work is very inspiring and gives me hope for another one no matter what the condition it may be in. Heck, you get me even thinking about hounding the guy to death about the basket case I originally found.
Keep up the awesome work!  :2thumbs:

Imight have something you can use.  I have a 100-200K btu barrel heater that needs a 100lb tank to run properly(full power) it's too much for the jobsite but you could use it in the garage for a few minutes at a time to take the chill out.  Let me know and we could prob work something out cheap.
