Paint my engine block B5 blue or leave it factory Orange?
« on: September 25, 2006 - 09:00:34 AM »
I am trying to decide if I want to paint my engine block B5 blue to match the car... I am leaning towards leaving it orange but think it may look cool.

Here is how it looks now...

Post your engine block pics and any comments please..

I vote for leaving it orange, it looks great the way it is now and with a blue car/blue engine it would be too much IMO.  Thats a great looking engine...wish I had it.

:iagree: I like the orange too.

It would be cool but the orange will make it stand out more.  If the car is going to be far from stock, then maybe paint it to match the body.   Otherwise, orange.

But then again I've never seen a B-5 engine....  :dunno:  It might look cool!

On our chally, we opted to go with the body color engine because orange would have looked horrible with the body color we chose.  We did the same thing with Pixie's engine for the same reason...no offense to anyone out there with an FM3 car with an orange engine, but it's just not what we would choose.  :2cents:

In my opinion, a B5 car would look just fine with an orange engine! :clapping:

I think B5 would look awesome.  Hey it is your car.  Do what makes you happy.  If you do paint it B5 don't forget to post pics.

I think it'd look great keeping it orange, but sometimes you can really set off the engine compartment if you go with a matching color theme. (like Chris and Laura's 383.)

I'll probally do mine body color, but most likely will be black... just love how alum heads and such look with a black block.  I think the blue looks good, something different, which is always a good thing.

Personally, I like the orange look, especially with the black wrinkle valve covers.  Is that a crate motor?
